A NEW £2million industrial park is set to open in mid-February providing a business boost for Farnworth. Stone Hill Business Park, off Stone Hill Road, was initially expected to open in December, however the development was delayed due to coronavirus restrictions. Entrepreneur Asad Shamim is the mastermind behind the development as he saw an opportunity to support upcoming online firms. Mr Shamim runs Furniture in Fashion, a multi-million pound Bolton-based online furniture store and one of the largest online stores of its kind in the UK. Situated in a 3.2 acre site in Farnworth, his firm sells everything from sofas to TV stands. Mr Shamim created the business in 2007 when he realised how the internet would be used by shoppers.
