Tonight, that terrifying scene in the heart of new york citys tourist midtown area, leaving two officers injured. Police swarming to this area just after 5 00 p. M. During rush hour. Sirens blazing, as that suspect, seen on 32nd street, just blocks from penn station. Officers telling a man to drop a weapon. What some witnesses described as a meat cleaver. When he didnt, the officers opened fire. Shots ringing out.

Reporter 29 people were injured when a homemade bomb exploded inside a dumpster in the chelsea neighborhood of manhattan saturday. Separate device was found near nearby. Also, on saturday, a small device exploded along the route of a 5k run in the Shore Community seaside park, new jersey. And on sunday, a bomb exploded near the train station in elizabeth. Four other devices were discovered nearby. Authorities believe rahami acted alone but they have not ascribed a motive to the bombings. They went to syria to fight the Islamic State to fight under they saw evil in the world and they gave their lives to fight it over the summer. Levy and jordan were american heroes. And they deserve to be remembered that way. One of the biggest hearts, caring person. He just cared more about everybody else than himself. He said i am first and foremost an american. Im here for my country. I know what wars look like. And i didnt want any of for my son. But im so proud of him for going. When he went over there the first time he said dont tell people where im at, but share the good word, the good fight. The stakes are so high, because isis is so evil. He couldnt stay here.
