Hereford crash driver carried on drinking cider after hitting a tree

Dariusz Jedrusik entered a guilty plea when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford. Prosecutor Ralph Robyns Landricombe said police had been called to reports of a car crashing into a tree in Hereford s Ryelands Street just after 8.20pm on February 3. Two men were reported to have got out of the car to look at the damage before getting back in and driving off. Police found the car, a silver Toyota Avensis, parked in Breinton Road with two men sat inside. It had significant front-end damage and the air bags had gone off, Mr Robyns Landricombe said. Jedrusik who told police he was drunk and had been driving, but gave officers a false name, was arrested and taken to A&E for assessment before being taken to Hereford Police Station, where officers discovered his real name after finding his identity card during a search and he was rearrested for obstructing police.

Circus skills teacher banned from the roads after drug-drive stop

George Cousins, for Lear, said the 32-year-old entertainer and circus skills teacher had driven a long way for work that day and had been stopped very close to his Portland Street home. He felt his work was doing good for the community and was enjoying being able to pay something back, but he treats his anxiety by using CBD oil and sometimes by smoking cannabis, Mr Cousins said. Unfortunately he feels he will have to go on benefits as he travels a lot with his work. Lear, who has a previous disqualification for drink-driving in 2015, was disqualified from driving for three years and fined £160. He must also pay costs of £135 and a £34 victim surcharge.

Hereford drug-driver caught out in insurance check

Corey Brown admitted drug-driving when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford on January 13. The 26-year-old had been driving a Ford Fiesta on Holme Lacey Road in Hereford at 12.30am on July 1, prosecutor Shafquat Reaz told the court. Brown, who was previously convicted for drug-driving in 2016, admitted to officers that he had taken drugs, and was arrested after failing a roadside drug test.  An evidential blood test at Hereford Police Station revealed he had 3.6 microgrammes of cannabis metabolite delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol per litre of blood. The legal limit is two. Chris Read, for Brown, said he had tried to be very careful with his use of cannabis since his previous conviction.
