Arrest made in 2019 road-rage incident

The incident happened on Herd Road Oct. 9. Police said the 85-year-old was tailgated and then passed by a truck. The truck’s driver approached the man’s vehicle, smashed out the windows and then committed an unspecified assault, police said. Jeffrey Robert Pfeifer, a 55-year-old Crofton resident, has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and mischief. The case is set to go to court in January. Times Colonist

Man Arrested for Road Rage Attack on Elderly Man SHARE ON: RCMP cruiser (Supplied by the RCMP) A Crofton man is now facing charges for a shocking road rage attack on an 85-year old man more than a year ago. The 55-year old suspect is charged with assault causing bodily harm and mischief in connection with the attack on Herd Road that took place on October 9 of 2019. Staff Sergeant Kurt Bosnell says the road-rage attack shocked the community and after the RCMP did a thorough and in-depth investigation the person responsible will now be held accountable. After tailgating the elderly man, the driver of a pick-up truck passed him, and when the vehicles were stopped, walked over to the man’s car, smashed the window, and then attacked him.

Man arrested for violent road rage incident in Duncan

  VICTORIA A man has been arrested for a violent road rage encounter that occurred in Duncan more than one year ago. The incident occurred on Oct. 9, 2019 along Herd Road in Duncan. Police say that at the time, an 85-year-old man reported being tailgated by a truck that eventually pulled up next to his vehicle. The male driver of the truck then allegedly exited his vehicle, smashed out a window of the victim’s car, and punched the elderly driver repeatedly. After the assault, the victim was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries. “A random attack of an elderly person was a shock to our community,” said Staff-Sgt. Kurt Bosnell of the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP in a release on Dec. 9.
