Hemant Soren arrest: Soren, who stepped down as chief minister, had approached the Supreme Court seeking the cancellation of the summons issued by the Enforcement Directorate.
The Supreme Court on Friday refused to interfere with a plea of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren challenging his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case.
India News: A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna, MM Sundresh and Bela Trivedin insisted with Kapil Sibal and AM Singhvi that Soren must move Jharkhand HC for bail. "It has been SC's consistent practice that such petitions must be moved before the HC, which is also a constitutional court and open to one and all," Justice Khanna said.
