Flowers are beginning to bloom, filling fields with vibrant colours and scrumptious scents. Popular spots such as Newtown National Nature Reserve are always winners when it comes to flower displays, but there are lesser-known areas guaranteed to be covered in vibrant blooms this spring and summer.

Newtown National Nature Reserve The meadows at Newtown National Nature Reserve are full of flowers. In good years, there s a mass of green-winged orchids in May. The muddy estuary is home to many salt marsh species.

Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team was sent just after 11am to help the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service with a tricky rescue off the sand at St Helens Duver. They used their basket stretcher to evacuate the casualty from the beach and into the ambulance, ready for onward transport to St Mary s Hospital.
