WELLFLEET Voters will have only one contested race to decide at Wednesday s town election: Who will fill the open slot on the Cemetery Commission. Donna Rickman and David Martin Agger will face off for the one available slot.
The Wellfleet Board of Selectmen has two open seats, but only one candidate is running: Helen Miranda Wilson.
The rest of the voting will be for 11 ballot questions, which call for one override and 10 debt exclusions.
Polls will be open from noon to 7 p.m. at the Council On Aging, 715 Old King s Highway.
Question 1 will ask for an override of Proposition 2½ to fund two fulltime firefighter/paramedic positions. This request was delayed from last year’s ballot because of COVID-19. The override will allow the town to assess an additional $168,080 in real estate and property taxes to fund the positions.

WELLFLEET Two years ago, David Pike sat down with the Wellfleet Select Board to pitch his plan for a retail marijuana store at the old general store off Route 6.
The shop may finally open this year, but Pike won’t be there.
He left the company, and is expected to plead guilty in June to conspiracy to commit bank fraud for his alleged participation in a global cryptocurrency Ponzi scheme that prosecutors say defrauded investors out of $4 billion.
