USA Reissues Level 4 Travel Advisory Urging Citizens Not to Travel to India Do not travel to India due to COVID-19, cautions the US state department to its citizens after reissuing a level 4 travel advisory to India.   |  6 May 2021 10:06 AM GMT Washington- As the COVID-19 cases in India keep skyrocketing and spiraling out of control with every passing day, the US government reissued its travel advisory urging its citizen to refrain from traveling to India. India is presently suffering from an unprecedented surge in the cases of the novel coronavirus, reporting more than three lakh fresh cases on a daily basis for the past few days resulting in the overburdening of the healthcare infrastructure dangerously bringing it on the verge of collapse. There have been widespread acute shortages of hospital beds, supply of medical oxygen and life-saving drugs as well as manpower signaling the inefficient functioning of the healthcare sector in India.

US denies issuing new guidance to Americans to leave India Mid-Day 5 hours ago © Provided by Mid-Day The US State Department has denied that it has issued new guidance to American citizens in India to leave the country as reported by some media. Department Spokesperson Ned Price said on Thursday that there has been some misreporting, perhaps a misperception, that we provided revised guidance to private American citizens in India. That is not true. He clarified that the department had only reissued a routine travel advisory for India that also applies to 80 per cent of the countries. He said, There was a `pro forma` reissuance of the travel advisory, the Level 4 travel advisory that had previously been in effect, given Covid (is) not only in India but also globally as well.
