Grant funds equine therapy for veterans

Horses For Healing Inc. has received a grant from the Disabled Veterans National Foundation for $13,000, which will fund HFH’s clinical equine therapy and wraparound programs, including Ashva yoga and veteran/family retreats.
With this support, HFH will be able to increase its capacity to offer these services at no cost to veteran clients and their families.
Evidence-based clinical equine therapy has been shown to decrease symptoms of anxiety and depression. Providing equine psychotherapy in conjunction with wraparound services supports retention and application of healthy coping strategies and stress-reduction techniques from the yoga mat to the arena and into daily life.
