Major storm is set to bring damaging hurricane-force winds to the central u.s. it s all part of the same system that brought wild weather to southern california. the effects of that storm sting lingering today in northern los angeles county where interstate 5 remains closed after heavy snow buried portions of the highway. more than six feet fell in some areas. about 50 miles south significant rain caused this embankment to collapse, sending three rvs falling into the santa clara river below. a similar scene north of los angeles county where the wintery conditions caused this hillside right there to crumble. that storm is all heading east, and we ve got cnn s brittany ritz standing by, and cnn s camila bernal is in california.
