The general manager of Allen Samuels DCJR issued an apology to the public Wednesday regarding comments he made during an interview on KWTX-TV before the Baylor victory parade.
Ted Teague was speaking to a reporter about the free Jeep Wrangler his auto company awarded Baylor Bears Head Coach Scott Drew prior to the Baylor Bears parade in Downtown Waco.
Baylor Bears can’t sleep and won’t sleep with the excitement.
Jared Butler expressed his excitement for his team and hasn’t gone to sleep yet.
Many questioned Baylor’s ability to win a championship but Head Coach Scott Drew knew better. Eighteen years ago when Drew joined Baylor he had the mindset of winning a national championship. The day has come.
Drew is excited for his team and fans stating “it’s long overdue for the state and so pleased for all of them,” in winning a championship.
In 2003 Head Coach Drew had the same winning mentality.
“I did not come to go to the NCAA tournament. We came to win games at the NCAA tournament,” Drew stated, “We came with the chance to win a national championship at Baylor University.”
The Baylor University Bears are celebrating today after winning their first-ever NCAA men s college basketball championship.
The private Christian university easily beat previously undefeated Gonzaga Monday night 86 to 70.
The Baylor team thanked God in prayer as they stood in a circle on the court after the game.
The Bears Jared Butler was named the Final Four most outstanding player. He gave thanks to the Lord after the game. I m not trying to preach a prosperity gospel, but our Lord and Savior, I say it all the time: He gets us through everything, Butler said. Jesus Christ, man, He s the truth. He was with us tonight, He was with us all season, He s with us wherever we go. He just sustained us. He brought us together. He brought this team together transfers, people from overseas. It s just tremendous how it just comes and it comes all full circle.
