Louisville has reached an agreement with College of Charleston coach Pat Kelsey to become the Cardinals’ next men’s basketball coach, a person with direct knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press. Louisville has scheduled a news conference for Thursday at its practice facility. Jeff Goodman of Field of 68 first reported the hire.
The Arizona Cardinals have agreed to a $30 million, two-year contract with offensive tackle Jonah Williams, according to a person familiar with the deal. The 6-foot-5, 312-pound Williams has started the past four seasons for the Cincinnati Bengals after being selected with the 11th overall pick of the 2019 draft out of Alabama. As news of the deal with Williams broke, the Cardinals also announced they were releasing veteran offensive lineman D.J. Humphries, who will likely miss at least part of next season with a torn ACL.
Kyle Filipowski was in the starting lineup four days after sustaining a knee injury when fans stormed the court and finished with nine points, 10 rebounds and six assists as No. 10 Duke beat Louisville 84-59 on Wednesday night. Filipowski, a preseason Associated Press All-American, was hurt following Saturday’s loss at Wake Forest when he collided with a fan. “It wasn’t anything too bad,” Filipowski said of making the quick recovery.
