Patients are helping to improve 'drab' Glasgow hospital

A BLAND and depressing hospital is being transformed thanks to the work of patients and volunteers. The Design in the Dale group is working to improve the health and wellbeing of those in Leverndale Hospital. And their latest move has been to unveil a stunning new mural on the site. Samantha Flower, Care Group Occupational Therapist and NHS project lead for this work, said: “When I am out and about everyone comments on how peaceful the site is. People are amazed by the mural and regularly stop to admire it as it has taken shape. Health bosses are seeking to improve indoor and outdoor spaces; increase greenspace and biodiversity; and improve the environment for patients, staff and the local community.

Campaigners in Lossiemouth hope to lay out plans for next five years © Supplied by Hazel Thomson, Elgin Lossiemouth. Campaigners in Lossiemouth are reaching out to plot the next five-year plan to shape the coastal community. The local development trust has come to the end of its previous blueprint. During that time the group and other organisations have achieved targets of securing the future of access to the East Beach with a replacement bridge due to be built, has secured land to build a skate park and supported efforts to build a pavilion at Marine Park among others. Now the trust has opened its arms to locals again to set objectives for the next five years for the coastal community.
