forecasters are warning heavy downpours and the possibility of flooding. earlier today a south carolina news anchor and photojournalist were killed while covering the storm when a tree fell on their suv. tonight rescuers in ellicott city, maryland, are still searching for a national guard member who was reported missing after trying to assist people caught in russian floodwaters there. sudden and violent floodwaters destroyed homes, businesses and submerged vehicles. maryland s governor declared a state of emergency this morning. officials and witnesses say 39-year-old eddison hermond was last seen trying to help a woman whose cat was missing in that raging flood. there is a little bit of good news out of hawaii tonight. the kilauea lava flow threatening a geothermal power plant has stopped and there has been no release of dangerous hydrogen sulfide gas as originally feared but the threat is far from over. jeff paul joins us with more on the volcano tonight. volcano smog is a big con
