Jack Law became friends with Eaton “Nob” Magoon, Jr., a local boy whose family owned the Magoon Estate. Through Bob Magoon, Jack Law was introduced to the Hawaiian culture, songwriting, and producing. Jack Law ventured into the real estate business after experiencing the entertainment industry in Hawaii. When a portion of Waikiki property belonging to the Magoon estate became available on the corner of Kuhio Avenue and Kalaimoku Street Bob Magoon and Jack Law decided to turn the establishment into a bar.

The weekly number of initial claims is up by more than 500 this week as many families in Hawaii are working to overcome the financial burden of the holidays. Many unemployment claimants are having trouble with the Pandemic Emergency Compensation (PEUC) benefit. After exhausting their regular unemployment benefits, they had to file for the PEUC, and depending on whether or not that happened before the deadline of December 26th made a big difference.
