Bolton schools get festive and raise £27,000 for the hospice

Over 20 schools have come together to raise some festive spirit for Bolton Hospice. Queensbridge School, Haslam Park Primary, The Oaks Primary, Devonshire Road Primary and more took part in a combination of jolly jumper days and elf runs during December to help the hospice raise enough funds to care for patients and families on Christmas Day. The schools went above and beyond, raising over £27,000, covering the Christmas Day costs and more to offer families specialist care and support. Haslam Park Primary School took part in Jolly Jumper Day, with pupils dressing up in their most colourful and cheerful jumpers. Headteacher Mrs Kati-Anne Roughley said: This year has been so tricky for our children and adults but we are very aware that there are others less fortunate than us. We had a very jolly day but also spent time reflecting on how lucky we are.
