American universities must not consider race as a factor in determining student admissions, according to a landmark ruling by the United States Suprem.
In a written summary of the historic decision on Thursday, Chief Justice John Roberts said: "Many universities have for too long wrongly concluded that the touchstone of an individual s identity is not challenges bested, skills built, or lessons learned, but the colour of their skin."
