The sedative drug xylazine, mainly used as an animal tranquilizer, is showing up more in overdose cases in the Chattanooga area and nationwide, police said Thursday.
Chattanooga police are working to link the suspect in a March 20 armed robbery at a downtown bank to a man who was killed after robbing a bank in another state, police said.
According to Executive Chief Harry Sommers, the same suspect involved in the Chattanooga robbery may have been involved in another robbery later week, across state lines.
