Strassman good evening, im Mark Strassman, reporting tonight from houston, texas. Harvey, the most powerful hurricane to hit this state since john f. Kennedy was president , is now a massive Tropical Storm. It is expected to churn over Southeast Texas well into the week, dumping more than four feet of rain on areas including houston. In a tweet, the National Weather service said the breadth and intensity of this rainfall are beyond anything experienced before. We had number of evacuations last night. We were trying to make sure people were safe in anticipation of any problems. We continue to push the lifesaving operations. We are continuing to evacuate people out of areas where the rivers have not receded yet. Leland the flooding damage is staggering. Neighborhood after neighborhood looks like this. A view from the air is even worse. Tens of thousands of homes are underwater and they could stay that way for weeks. In some parts of houston, the waters have receded.
