Stolen vehicle from 2008 found submerged in Newaygo County pond

BIG PRAIRIE TOWNSHIP, Mich. â Deputies discovered a vehicle that was stolen more than a decade ago on Thursday, according to the Newaygo County Sheriffâs Office.
In a Facebook post, the sheriffâs office says a 2006 Chevrolet Impala was found submerged in the Hardy Dam Pond Thursday night. They say it was clear that it had been there for a long period of time.
Weâre told the Newaygo County Dive Team returned the next day to remove the car from the pond with the help of Jerryâs Towing and Recovery.

A stolen car had to be fished out of a creek in Newaygo County on Friday.
The sheriff’s office says the car was found on Thursday upside down and submerged where the Rosey Run Creek flows into the Hardy Dam Pond in Big Prairie Township.
A dive team pulled it out on Friday, and that’s when law enforcement learned it was stolen.
They ran the plates, revealing it was stolen from Kent County in 2008.
The sheriff’s office says the car appears to have been in the creek “for an extended length of time.”
