A group of students at Mountain View High School fielded those and many other questions – and answered them so well that they’ll be representing Arizona in the national We The People, The Citizen and Constitution National Invitational in May, competing with their counterparts from the 49 other states. Sponsored by the Center for Civic Education, the competition is billed as a “national academics showcase” in which students “display the civic knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to effectively participate in our constitutional democratic republic through simulated congressional hearings.”
