Photo : YONHAP News Yoon Seok-youl, ehemaliger Chefstaatsanwalt, liegt laut einer Umfrage in einem hypothetischen Duell zwischen den Präsidentschaftsbewerbern des Regierungs- und Oppositionslagers hinter Lee Jae-myung, Gouverneur der Provinz Gyeonggi, zurück. Das ergab eine Umfrage, die Hangil Research im Auftrag des Online-Nachrichtenportals Kuki News durchführte. Befragt wurden vom 10. bis 12. Juli landesweit 1.001 über 18-Jährige.  Lee gewann demnach 43,9 Prozent Unterstützung, während Yoon auf 36 Prozent kam. Die Differenz beträgt 7,9 Prozentpunkte und liegt damit außerhalb der Fehlerspanne (plus/minus 3,1 Prozentpunkte bei einem Konfidenzniveau von 95 Prozent). 16,2 Prozent antworteten, dass sie keinen Kandidaten unterstützten.  Auch in einer Umfrage durch Global Research, die vom 30. Juni bis 2. Juli erfolgte, blieb Yoon mit einer Differenz außerhalb der Fehlerspanne (Rückstand von acht Prozentpunkten) hinter Lee zurück.
