Western Illinois Regional Council's Victim Services is hosting Hands Around the Courthouse next week to raise awareness and educate the public to hopefully end the cycle of abuse. The public is invited to attend the event on the steps of the Knox County Courthouse at 2:00 pm next Thursday, April 21, weather permitting. It is expected the event would wrap up by 3:30. Statements will be given by counselors and advocates of Victim Services and, afterward, anyone from the audience can participate by holding a blue child abuse awareness ribbon and forming a circle around the courthouse. During the event, t-shirts designed by child survivors of domestic and/or sexual abuse as part of The Clothesline Project will be on display. Additionally, there will be free and confidential resources available for anyone interested in the agency or services and counselors will be on hand if any survivors want to have a confidential conversation. Questions about the event can be directed to Victim Serv
