BROCTON Brocton’s Art Discovery program is displaying its latest exhibit, which is an artistic history that combines both February’s Black History Month and March’s Women’s History Month. Instead of doing two different exhibits for each month, the architect of the Art Discovery program, Lucy Andrus, said that this program will celebrate and recognize pieces of both.
“For the Women’s History component, we’re focusing on the concept of women’s handwork and its multiple layers of meaning and purpose,” Andrus said. “For the Black History aspect, we’re focusing on women who have made significant achievements in the arts, humanities, science, business, and politics. Each woman is pictured along with a description of her achievements and contributions. “

With pandemic restrictions hindering cross-border travel all around the world, one group of Russian diplomats has found a unique way to return home.
Eight employees of the Russian embassy in North Korea and their families, including a three-year-old child, were pictured travelling on a hand-pushed rail trolley.
Russia s foreign ministry said in a Facebook post the group had started their long and difficult journey to get home on Thursday. Borders have been closed for more than a year and passenger traffic has been stopped, the ministry said.

garrett haake and shannon, good luck to you. we want to go back to california where a fire is getting dangerously close to the reagan library. it s called the simi fire, and due to high winds consumed hundreds of acres. residential areas around the reagan library have already been evacuated. joining me now from simi valley, california, nbc news correspondent steve patterson. my goodness, what s going on there, steve? reporter: chris, firefighters are doing everything that they can to battle the flames here. hot spots are popping up all over this ridgeside. you can see the homes that they re trying to protect in the valley below down there mixed in with crews who have now built a containment line. it s impressive what they ve done. even on this mountainside, you can see the handwork they ve done. you can see right next to me they ve built a line.
