We hope that this literary work, which vividly depicts the life of contemporary China and deeply portrays human nature, will strike a chord with Malaysian readers, says Kang Wei, chairman of Beijing Publishing Group.

THE Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (Teco) in Malaysia and the Han Culture Centre Malaysia (Han) are jointly organising the “Malaysian and Taiwanese Folklores and Legends of Aboriginal Peoples Illustration Books Project” in conjunction with the 2020 Kuala Lumpur World Book Capital (KLWBC) and National Reading Decade. This is a continuation of the successful “Ba-Ku Bersama” (reading books together) Mobile Library Project last year. The “Malaysian Folklores Writing Competition” was also launched as part of the project officiated by KLWBC 2020 secretariat head Anwar Mohd Zain, and witnessed by TECO cultural division director Chen Kuan-fu recently.

KUALA LUMPUR: The government and the people should make necessary adjustment to their daily affairs, including those which involved the four key sectors of politics, economy, culture and education, in order to better cope with the persisting Covid-19 pandemic, said Tan Sri TC Goh, the president of the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong). It is an undeniable fact that we are currently going through an unprecedented tough time of an excruciating pandemic, political chaos, and a freezing economy, he said. He reiterated that in this extraordinary and challenging time, politicians from both sides of the divide should put aside politics and unite to lead the people to fight the pandemic and for a rapid economic recovery.
