A bookkeeper from Barnstead was sentenced today in federal court for stealing money from both Barnstead and Hampton School Districts, U.S. Attorney Jane E. Young announces.
The recognition follows more than three years of work by the Planning Board, the Master Plan Steering Committee, town staff, and residents and business leaders.
This year, the lunch debt bill was nearly paid in full thanks to a $3,000 donation in honor of Jo-An Workman, who worked at the Oyster River Middle School cafeteria in Durham for more than 36 years.
Students in Hampton won't have to worry about outstanding lunch debt this year because of a gift in honor of a cafeteria worker from another district who loved to help children in need.
