Fair housing conference to educate Genesee County residents on landlord and tenant rights plus more

FLINT, MI A conference aimed at helping residents of Flint and Genesee County get access to resources and information about fair housing is scheduled to take place over the course of several days.
The free “Love Where You Live” Fair Housing Conference presented by the Flint Area Community Housing Resource Board takes place from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 14, 3:45 to 5:10 p.m. Thursday, April 15 and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 16.

Starting April 11, new state expungement laws go into effect giving people the opportunity to have up to three felony convictions removed from their record.
âExpungements, people want to clean up their records from criminal convictions,â said Flint councilman Eric Mays.
Hundreds of people came out to Pierson Road in Flint to clean up their records. Mays said through personal experience, he knows just how beneficial an event like this is to the community.

FLINT - Hamilton Community Health Network will be administering COVID-19 vaccinations to residents of Flint’s north end on Saturday, April 10.
“It’s primarily (targeted) for the residents of North Flint,” said Matthew Frierson, communications and outreach specialist for Hamilton Community Health Network.
The Genesee County Health Department says a Meijer COVID-19 vaccine clinic scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 27, has caused confusion among individuals with appointments, some of whom have showed up for vaccinations at its offices and at the Hamilton Community Health Network clinic.
