Patrol investigating fatal crash on U.S. 30

MIDDLE POINT – On April 4, 2021, at approximately 9:48 p.m. troopers
with the Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a
report of a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 30 near Mile Post 20 in Washington
Township, Van Wert County.
A 2015 Freightliner semi, operated by
Glen Anderson, age 66, of Rochester, Indiana was traveling eastbound on
U.S. 30. A 2008 Chrysler van, owned by Jeffrey Brown, age 44, of
Delphos, Ohio was disabled and parked on the right berm of eastbound
U.S. 30.

MIDDLE POINT A Delphos man was killed Sunday night when he was struck by a semi tractor-trailer while making repairs to his vehicle along U.S. 30 in Washington Township.
Jeffrey Brown, 44, was pronounced dead at the scene by a representative of the Van Wert County Coroner’s Office from injuries sustained in the accident.
According to investigating troopers from the Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Mr. Brown was standing on the left side of his disabled 2008 Chrysler van making repairs to his vehicle, which was parked on the right side of the eastbound lanes of U.S. 30 at approximately 9:48 p.m. Sunday, when a 2015 Freightliner semi rig driven east on U.S. 30 by Glen Anderson, 66, of Rochester, Indiana, veered onto the berm of the highway and first struck the left side of the van and then Brown, who sustained fatal injuries in the crash.
Delphos man killed Sunday night in Van Wert County crash
MIDDLE POINT A Delphos man was killed Sunday night in a two-vehicle traffic accident near Middle Point in Van Wert County.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the accident took place at approximately 9:48 p.m. when a semi tractor-trailer operated by Glen Anderson, 66, of Rochester, Indiana, was traveling eastbound on U.S. 30 and struck a disabled vehicle owned by Jeffrey Brown, 44, of Delphos.
Brown’s vehicle was parked along the right berm of the highway, and Brown was attempting to make repairs when Anderson’s semi traveled outside its lane and onto the berm, striking the left side of Brown’s vehicle and Brown himself, the patrol report stated. Brown was pronounced dead at the scene by a representative of the Van Wert County Coroner’s Office.
