Ludhiana: The Ludhiana police on Tuesday evening booked a retired DSP of Punjab Police and his son for allegedly threatening and wrongfully restrainin.
The complainant alleged that the DSP had encroached on the property of his Australia-based daughter-in-law and when he went to check the said piece of land, the former DSP and his son waylaid and threatened him.

As many as 1,257 persons from the district tested positive for Covid, while 19 lost their lives to the disease today.
Total positive cases reached 62,578, while the death toll has mounted to 1,489. There were 11,022 active patients in the district on Thursday.
Fifteen men and four women lost their lives. The deceased belong to Basant Avenue, Haibowal Kalan, Dugri, Dharor village, Chandigarh Road, Dholewal, Kanganwal, Guru Angad Dev Colony, Mullanpur, Phullanwal, Gill village, Dhatta, near Dehlon, Rahon Road, Guru Ram Das Colony, Tagore Nagar, Basant Avenue and Sarabha Nagar.
A total of 10,380 samples were collected from the district and report of 421 is pending.
