thinks laws will stop fentanyl death and will stop abortion, but somehow won t stop gun violence. and we simply know that isn t true. you can t be soft on guns and tough on crime. and voters showed republicans that at the polls. gun safety was one of the top three issues for voters in this country. but the reality is the data shows gun laws work. when we look at states with stronger gun laws there s less gun deaths. when we look at states with weaker gun laws. there s more death. that s pretty intuitive, yet we continue to hear that gun manufacturer rhetoric that somehow more guns and fewer laws are going to make us safer. and if that were true, with 400 million guns and very few laws in this country, we would be the safest country in the world. instead, we have a 25 times higher gun homicide rate than any peer nation. i mean, and look, i brought receipts, the wonderful producers here got receipts for you to back up what you said. 6 out of 10 states with the least gun violence deaths
