Man held for killing brother over property dispute Karachi February 1, 2021 Police on Sunday arrested a man for allegedly murdering his brother over a property dispute. A man, Qasim Khan, son of Nazeer Khan, was shot dead in the Pirabad area on December 1 last year. Police said the victim’s brother had initially claimed that the deceased was killed over offering resistance during a mugging bid, after which they registered a case against an unidentified person. Police claimed that it was revealed during the investigation that the victim’s own brother was behind the murder. Investigators said they found out that Qasim’s brother Hashim Khan had paid Rs1.5 million to a killer, Gulab Khan, to murder his brother.

Shopkeeper kills two 'robbers' in Surjani Town

Karachi December 29, 2020 A shopkeeper gunned down two alleged criminals after they committed a robbery at his shop in Surjani Town on Monday evening. The shopkeeper told the Surjani Town police that two men had looted cash and other valuables in his shop at gunpoint. As the robbers tried to escape, the man said he shot at them. Following the incident, a large number of people gathered at the scene and caught the injured men. The police said the incensed mob also thrashed the injured robbers. Subsequently, a heavy contingent of law enforcers reached the spot and took the custody of both the suspects. The injured were being transported to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital when they succumbed to their injuries.

Surgeries put off due to pandemic Nine die of Covid-19 in Rawalpindi, more patients put on ventilators RAWALPINDI: The garrison city witnessed highest number of deaths caused by the second wave of novel coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in a single day on Friday when nine patients died of pandemic. The deceased included Ulfat Akbar, Gulab Khan, Mirza Gulab, Ashfaq, Saeed and Fauzia who were under treatment at Holy Family Hospital. Two other patients succumbed to the disease at Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH). According to official figures a total of 101 patients are currently under treatment at the Holy Family Hospital. Meanwhile at the main pandemic hospital, Rawalpindi Institute of Urology and Kidney Transplant (RIUKT) 10 patients were put on ventilator while 79 were on oxygen support
