Dalit leader Jignesh Mevani on Tuesday blamed that BJP party workers attacked his convoy when he was on his way for poll campaign. But, the ruling party denied the charge.
The 34-year-old is contesting Gujarat polls from Vadagam in Banaskantha district as an independent candidate. Mewani is enjoying support of the Congress.
The constituency is reserved for SC candidates.

Hardik Patel-led Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) activists on Sunday got involved in clash with Congress workers over ticket distribution in Surat.
The PAAS workers were alleging that they did not get proper representation as it was promised. Congress and PASS reached an agreement over quota on Sunday which was later announced by Bharat Singh Solanki, Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee President.

A poster has been released on social media showing upcoming Gujarat elections as a face-off between ‘RAM’ and ‘HAJ.’ Both the terms are the abbreviation of Bhartiya Janata Party leaders and their opponents.
RAM stands for Rupani, Amit Shah and Modi whereas HAJ was for Hardik, Alpesh and Jignesh.
