May 11, 2021 THE Zamboanga City Government has reiterated its call to the residents to continuously comply with the minimum health protocols to help curb cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in the city.
Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said community transmission remains to be the main cause of the high incidence of coronavirus infection in the city.
She said the city has a total of 7,695 confirmed cases with seven reinfections as of Monday, May 10.
Of the total, the active cases were 1,999, as 133 new cases were registered.
Salazar noted that 1,984 of the 1,999 active cases were acquired through community transmission, while the rest included 10 authorized persons outside residence (Apor), four locally-stranded individuals (LSIs) and one detainee.
January 19, 2021 POLICE operatives arrested three people, one of them an alleged big-time drug pusher, and seized some P184,000 worth of shabu in separate anti-drug campaigns in Zamboanga Peninsula, officials said Tuesday, January 19.
The Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula identified the arrested suspects as Edward Macajelos, 25; Norman Gutierrez, 34; and Nerissa Sojor, 38.
Macajelos was arrested by personnel of the Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit led by Police Lieutenant Leo Suan in coordination with Dipolog City police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in buy-bust operation around 7:55 p.m. Monday, January 18, in Purok Bougenvilla, Gulayon village, Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte.
Seized from the suspects were some P120,000 worth of shabu, P500 marked money, P400 in cash, a container and a cellular phone.
