The plan The five-page draft spends the first page-and-a-half going over the governor’s executive order, mentions a survey “already offered to gather input from the community,” and encourages the public to “submit their constructive comments relative to the plan” to [email protected]. The draft then lists nine numbered points. The first explains that the sheriff’s office has been a New York State accredited police agency since 2003 and plans to continue “its efforts to exceed those standards whenever possible.” Second, the office’s mission statement is to be “updated to formally reflect its established recognition that principled policing practices and training are a core belief and a guiding principle.”
