Prosecutors say a nebraska man who didnt get the promotion he wanted at Buena Vista University has been convicted of hacking without authorization into several of the schools computers and email accounts. 46yeaeaold david boyer pleaead guilty this week in u. S. District court in sioux city to unauthorized access to a protected computer. In a plea agreement, boyer admitted that in 2009 and 2010, he hacked computers at the storm lake school. Prosecutors say boyer was angry that he hadnt been promoted to become h hd of the Information Technology department. Boyer agreed to pay 100,000 in restitution. His sentencing date has not been set.
