Daniel Allan Boyer, owner of Ridgetop Orchards and an influential member of the Pennsylvania and U.S. apple industry, died Sunday, Sept. 4 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 68.
"Dan was a larger-than-life figure who brought remarkable passion, experience and energy into the beautiful orchard acres of Ridgetop," the company said in a statement. "His love of the land, dedication to his family and teachings to staff will continue to have a lasting impact in the Chestnut Ridge region he called home."
They had a nickname in the industry for the Trans Mountain oil pipeline when it was under construction. They called it the roughest inch, and with good reason.
Gainesville guitar playing persists on The Autopsy of Jules Bouvier
Greg Toth continues home recordings with his eighth album April 19, 2021 | 3:54pm EDT Toth’s latest album, “The Autopsy of Jules Bouvier,” was released Aug. 18 and reflects a guitar blues influence.
Greg Toth’s music lives in bowling alleys, restaurants, bicycle shops and bars. He doesn’t make a spectacle.
He adds to the ambience of a dingy place. And when he wants to surprise his audience, his baritone voice heightens into an unexpected falsetto.
“I have a few songs out there that you don’t really capture in a studio recording,” Toth said.
