SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Most people read about what happened on December 5, 1941 at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, but few alive can say they were there. Garfield Ware, a young Navy seaman at the time, was on board the USS Lexington when the Japanese attacked the base in Hawaii.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - World War II Veteran Garfield Ware will be honored for his service on Wednesday, October 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Revive Coffee & Wine on Harrison Avenue in South Lake Tahoe. The 98-year-old Ware was with the U.S. Navy and is a Pearl Harbor survivor.
