Mountain Mike s Pizza has opened its first Highland store in San Bernadino County in California. Owned by 16-unit franchisee and area developer Robby Basati, the store is the first of three that will open this year under his leadership, a news release said. We re excited for the Highland community to experience the family-friendly atmosphere and mouthwatering pizza s that has made Mountain Mike s a household name in Northern California for over 40 years, Basati said in the release. Although we re not yet open indoors, it s been awesome to serve up our signature pizzas, covered from edge-to-edge in our legendary crispy, curly pepperonis, in the safest way possible.
On Tuesday, Dec. 8, Highland City Council approved an amendment to the Mediterra housing development, adding a 1.6-acre parcel to the 316-unit development being built on the north side of Greenspot Road east of Santa Ana Canyon Road.
The amendment, submitted by developer Sunland Communities, adjusts the tentative tract map for phase 1 of the project, adding a 1.6-acre parcel (containing a residence and several out buildings). Sunland desired for the project early in the planning but was unable to purchase it when the plan was first submitted to and approved by the city in March 2016.
Since Sunland always wanted the property to be part of the project, Mediterraâs infrastructure and environmental documents were designed to account for the property and few alterations were needed to the plan.
