Colin Jones, 56, lost his job at Oakhurst Community Primary School when the allegations came to light last year. But he was given his liberty after a judge at Swindon Crown Court heard he had started specialist therapy sessions and was deemed by the probation service to be a realistic prospect of rehabilitation. Sentencing him to nine months’ imprisonment suspended for two years, Judge Peter Crabtree said: “Anyone who is involved in downloading images of this nature is [involved] in criminality which fuels the abuse of young children and which can have a lifelong physical or psychological effect on those who are victims.
