Especially considering most real estate sales in Pennsylvania were prohibited for a period of time due to Gov. Tom Wolf’s COVID-19 shutdown of non-essential businesses. Once the shutdown ended, real estate sales were reportedly off the charts, with more houses selling than in recent years and sales closing at a faster rate. And those two things haven’t slowed down. To give you a small snapshot, the Greater Harrisburg Association of Relators released its December number for its coverage area of Dauphin, Cumberland and Perry Counties. In December 2020, there were 744 houses sold compared to 611 home in December 2019. The average home sold in that area was for $237,350, about $22k more than the previous December.
