Eureka Springs, Arkansas, will allow a nativity scene to remain in a park this Christmas season despite threats of a lawsuit and demands that it be removed from public space.
The baby Jesus can stay put in his manger in the band shell of a downtown city park in Eureka Springs as long as the executive director of the Great Passion Play gets a permit for the display and pays the $25 fee, Mayor Robert "Butch" Berry said.
A nativity scene that has been part of a decades-old tradition in a local Eureka Springs, Arkansas park will remain on display during this Christmas season. But whether or not it will be allowed to continue in the future remains to be seen.
John Brown University in Siloam Springs hosts its 80th annual Candlelight Services at 7 p.m. Dec. 8-10 in JBU s Cathedral of the Ozarks. The free event will feature performances by the choirs of John Brown University.
