Rallied in new york demanding more aggressive federal response to deaths caused by police. Family members of People Killed by new York City Police are going back decades were among those in the huge crowd at Washington Square. 23 people were arrested for Disorderly Conduct during protests at the Boston Common and the massachusetts statehouse. Otherwise, this demonstration against Police Brutality was mostly peaceful. Several hundred people were there. There are protests in the bay area, as well. Demonstrators today in oakland marched from College Avenue down broadway to the Alameda County courthouse near lake merritt. Todays protest is marred by a dramatic distraction. Chopper 5 is tracking a large crowd in oakland. They are at telegraph and west grand. Our joe vazquez has been following them all day and says they have been mostly peaceful and its things like broken windows that have protestors worried the message is being drowned out. Joe . The overwhelming majority of whom have a peaceful message they want it to remain peaceful but there are things going on that are distracting and rude. They havent met on the football field since 2011, but today, the 49ers battled it out with the oakland raiders. Christien kafton is at o. Co coliseum now. Reporter sheriffs deputies and police were on alert here today. We did see a few incidents going on inside and outside the coliseum. We did see a few incidents of violence, including one that happened just a few feet away from me. We saw about a half dozen Alameda County sheriffs deputies show up on scene in that incident within a minute. Raiders say both men who were fighting were detained and neither was allowed inside. We saw a number of men in custody. The raiders say that was their plan, zero tolerance policy towards any violence. A quick response, and a lot of hard work to maintain that friendly rivalry. They became really suspicious when he took part in none of the activities surrounding the 50th anniversary of selma. Is there any indication he might be in hiding, that he might know about this .
