those little wind barbs you see right there, were probably going to have a 48 hour period of onshore winds it means storm surge you see go in that doesn t have any time to move back out. the wind will keep all that water piled up into shore, piled up in the inlets in the streams and then on top of that, 20-40 inches of rain. rain that falls, gravity is what takes water off of our continent, it goes down to the shore gravity isn t going to be able to do that because it wants to go down to a lower area and all of that water is coming from the ocean and piling it toward the land. that s why we think all of these towns are going to have some of the worst flooding they have ever seen. north carolina got incredible damage from matthew just a few years ago, they ve had a wet here already. i keep talking about north carolina, it will also be south carolina, parts of georgia getting some of this as well.
