GENEVA, Ohio â The Wineries of the Grand River Valley is hosting the 18th annual Ice Wine Festival during the month of April.
Ice wine is a sweet dessert wine, but in order to get that sweet flavor the temperature outside has to be right.
âIt has to be frozen in the vineyards, so the grapes have to freeze,â said Nick Ferrante, the winemaker Ferrante Winery in Geneva, during last year s harvest.
Ferrante Winery is one of the six wineries featured in the Ice Wine Festival, all participating in an ice wine trail that will last the entire month.
