Steve Thonn is returning to Grand Rapids! At least for one day, that is. Thonn, who is the head coach of the Cleveland Gladiators, will hold an open player tryout on Sunday, October 30 at the Soccer Spot, the former training facility of the Grand Rapids Rampage.
The city of Grand Rapids, Michigan had an Arena Football League franchise for 11 season, from 1998-2008. On Tuesday night, October 28, 2014, the Rampage was honored with an induction into the Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame.
After three consecutive losses, the Grand Rapids Rampage got back in the win column with a 72-38 victory Friday night (April 25) over the Kansas City Brigade. A crowd of 8,102 was on hand to see the Rampage outscore the Brigade by 34 points and improve their record to 3-5 on the season.
