TopLine’s First Ever Clothing and Shoe Drive Benefits Local and Global Organizations TopLine Federal Credit Union Maple Grove, Minnesota, UNITED STATES
MAPLE GROVE, Minn., May 26, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) TopLine Federal Credit Union’s first-ever Clothing and Shoe Drive held during the month of April benefited local and global organizations. All clothing donations benefited local non-profit Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities and all shoes benefited African Education & Health Initiatives (AFEDHI), with shoes being sent to Nigeria.
TopLine members and employees donated gently used or new clothing and shoes, and could also purchase items from TopLine’s Amazon Wishlist or Target Registry and have them sent directly to credit union, and in return TopLine delivered to our charitable partners. When the program ended TopLine employees and members had donated over 2,050 pounds of clothing,
YMCA, other nonprofits say coat donations falling short this year

YMCA in need of winter coat donations
Normally during this time of year, the local YMCA would be done handing out coats to families in need. But this year, she said the YMCA is nowhere near its goal.
(FOX 9) - The YMCA is one of a few local nonprofits struggling to keep up with the demand of people requesting help.
The organization said it needs coats as temperatures drop, but donations are down this year. This is a huge concern, especially for folks that take public transportation, waiting at bus stops, trying to walk certain distances to get to the grocery store, and for those that are experiencing homelessness, Kate Whitby, the community program director at YMCA of the North.
