UPPER WEST SIDE, NY An Upper West Side private school was named the best in the city by a recent ranking of New York City s best learning institutions.
Trinity School is the best private school in New York City, according to an annual list compiled by the school-ranking website Niche.
Trinity is located at 139 West 91st Street on the Upper West Side and routinely gets named to the top of best citywide and nationwide school rankings.

The UWS school has 1,001 students in grade K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of six to one, according to Niche.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY Fans of Mermaid Inn on the Upper West Side just got some good news, as the team behind the popular seafood restaurant recently opened a new eatery in the neighborhood.
Mermaid Bird opened this week at 568 Amsterdam Avenue, near 88th Street, for take-out and delivery only.
The space is usually home to Pizzeria Sirenetta, but the pizzeria is currently closed because of coronavirus related issues. Mermaid Bird will operate at the 568 Amsterdam space until Pizzeria Sirenetta reopens, and then it is unclear where the new restaurant will take its kitchen.
