Comedian David Walliams called Barbara Windsor the unofficial Queen of England, an icon treasured by the nation as he paid tribute the actress who has died aged 83.
The actress, known for her work in the Carry On films before becoming a household name playing Peggy Mitchell on EastEnders, died on Thursday evening, her husband Scott Mitchell said. Goodbye Dame Babs. You were my first love as a child in the Carry On films & I will love you forever.
