Dozens of photographs taken by four local Native American youth artists during a two-week photography camp last summer are now on display in the Sanford Bemidji Medical Center for all to see.
Circles of Faith United Church of Christ in Waubun will host a two-month exhibition of the work of Naytahwaush artist Kent Estey, starting with a grand opening and artist talk set for Thursday, Nov. 10 from 6 to 8 p.m., weather permitting. Estey will begin his remarks at approximately 6:30 p.m.
With anticipation of the Indigenous art, traditional food tastings, demonstrations and entertainment that would proliferate throughout the day on Friday and into Saturday, hundreds of attendees filed into the cultural oasis that the Sanford Center had been transformed into.
The first-ever Anishinaabe Art Festival is set to celebrate the rich culture and history of Indigenous people along with bringing intercultural knowledge and diversity to the region on Friday, July 22, and Saturday, July 23, at the Sanford Center.
