ALBANY Home is where public health officials want Americans to stay this Christmas, and it appears many of us are taking their advice.
With Covid-19 continuing to spread, AAA projects a 29 percent drop nationwide in holiday travelers compared to last year. That s 34 million fewer travelers than last year.
At Albany International Airport, holiday travel is peaking Wednesday at 1,746 passengers, which is down 54 percent from the same day a year ago and a 68 percent decline from two years ago. We have not encouraged travel at all, airport spokesman Doug Myers said Tuesday. We re adhering to (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) guidelines.
